Basic safety training for deckhands

The basic safety training for deckhands is meant for newcomers in inland shipping who have not worked on a ship before, and are not aware of the dangers which can occur when working on board a ship.

Some of the topics covered in this training include:
use of life-saving appliances, safe movement on board, handling emergency situations, working with ropes and wires, fire fighting, risks caused by noise and use of personal protection means, handling hazardous materials on board, first aid.

3 days (6 half-days), including the completion of an e-learning module prior to the on-board training
