Before a captain can appoint a person as a breathing apparatus operator, he or she must confirm that the individual holds both a certificate indicating succesfully completion of the breathing apparatus operator course and a certificate of medical fitness.<\/p><p>A<strong> certificate of medical fitness<\/strong> for employability as a breathing apparatus operator is <strong>required <\/strong>to be able to participate in the training.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2072\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Content of training<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2072\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2072\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>The <strong>basic breathing apparatus operator training<\/strong> includes both theoretical and practical components.<\/p><p>Topics covered during the training sessions include:<\/p><ul><li>The use of the breathing apparatus<\/li><li>Working together in a team in emergency situations<\/li><li>Exploring affected areas and rescue\u00a0<\/li><li>Fighting a small fire<\/li><li>Evacuation exercises<\/li><\/ul><p>The theoretical knowledge learned during the training is put into practice on board through simulated drills.<br \/>We provide all required training materials for use throughout Europe, including a specially equipped training unit in which various scenarios can be practiced.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2073\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Certificate validity<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2073\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2073\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>Successfully completing this training entitles the trainee to a breathing apparatus operator certificate <strong>valid for 1 year. <br \/><\/strong><\/p><p>As prescribed by the RSP, these certificates are issued in the safety book distributed by Op Koers!
